Generator Safety
It's important that standby generators are installed safely and correctly.
Ensuring our members know how to safely install generators is very important to your co-op. If you have questions about how to safely connect a stand-by, portable or whole-house generator, please call us.
Operate generators outdoors in an area with plenty of ventilation because they give off exhaust that contains carbon monoxide. This odorless, poisonous gas can be fatal. That's why a generator should NEVER be run inside a home or garage. Use carbon monoxide detectors in nearby enclosed spaces to monitor levels.
